• "The Journal of John Fontaine: A Huguenot's Travels In Virginia." Northern Neck of Virginia Historical Magazine, 50 (Montross, VA: Northern Neck of Virginia Historical Society, December 2010). The journal of Fontaine 1714-1718, with special emphasis on his visits to the Northern Neck, and of his brother James who served as Clerk of Northumberland County 1735--1746.

• "Lancaster County Oaths of Allegiance, 1777-1778." Magazine of Virginia Genealogy 48, No. 4 (Richmond: Virginia Genealogical Society, December 2010).  Transcript of the four surviving original Revolutionary War Oaths of Allegiance for Lancaster County, VA, compared to recorded copies, with introduction.

• "John Fontaine and the First Germanna Colony." in three parts, published as a Premium Content article on The Memorial Foundation of the Germanna Colonies of Virginia web site, May 2009. The journal of John Fontaine with special emphasis on the first Germanna Colony (1710).

• "The Kelley Brothers and the American Colonization Society: From Northumberland to Liberia" The Bulletin of the Northumberland County Historical Society, 45 (Heathsville, VA: The Northumberland County Historical Society, 2008).  The story of two bachelor brothers who emancipated their 44 slaves and sent them to Liberia in 1856, as well as the American Colonization Society who sponsored them.

•  "A Tree Falls at Litwalton,"Northern Neck of Virginia Historical Magazine, 58, (Montross, VA: The Northern Neck of Virginia Historical Society, 2008). A history of a Lancaster County house, a village and the families who lived there from 1771 to the present.

• "The Avary Family of Amelia County, Virginia, With Notes on Their Descendants." The Southside Virginian, A Journal of Genealogy and History. Vol. XIV, Nos. 1-4 (1996); Vol. XV, Nos. 1-4 (1997). This journal is now defunct. Copies available upon request. Genealogy of descendants of Cornish Emigrant Yeo Avery of Stratton Parish, Cornwall, England to Richmond County, Virginia, to Amelia County, Virginia and thence to South Carolina, Georgia, Kentucky and Missouri.
